LHF: Hi Lois, thanks so much for being our October spotlight interview! To start, can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Lois: I was born in Rhode Island and had a career as a registered nurse, working in Emergency medicine and as a legal nurse consultant until retiring in 2012.
Lois: I have always been involved in sports since high school and I began personal training at age 32.
Lois: I moved to Palm Beach Gardens in 2014 on a permanent basis. Upon moving last year, I searched for a gym that was friendly, provided small group classes and had decent equipment for my weight training. A close friend suggested Loggerhead Fitness which proved to be the best advice! Loggerhead is a clean, friendly gym with staff that are professional and trained in the science of exercise.
LHF: Do you have a preferred types of workout?
Lois: I began training in the small group classes with Julie Johnson. I needed to gain strength, weight and endurance which was the goal of group training. I progressed to personal training with Julie and the results are amazing.
Lois: I have gained muscle mass, tone, and strength. My game of tennis has improved as we have focused on agility in group class. Julie plays tennis and is knowledgeable about the exercises and diet needed for competition.
Lois: I have become friends with many members as we have the same goals and aspirations; remain healthy, become the best of ourselves, share laughter while working out! The best compliment I have been receiving is that I now look healthy, fit, and toned!Thank you Loggerhead Fitness!
I will end on a few quotes about the will to be the best you can be:
“Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from indomitable will.” – Mahatma Gandhi & “Physical Fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.” – John F. Kennedy.
